By Lisa Lear, Reconciliations Manager – Gibraltar Head Office
My journey with Blacktower began in Portugal in 2009, at a time when the company was a close-knit operation with just four offices across Gibraltar, Spain and the UK. I still remember my first day clearly — walking in nervous, but excited — never imagining how much both the business and my own career would evolve over the years that followed.
In 2016, my role in Reconciliations gave me the opportunity to relocate and join the Head Office team in Gibraltar. This marked an important milestone in my career, allowing me to work more closely with colleagues across the Group and gain a broader understanding of how the business operates at scale.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of building strong, lasting relationships with colleagues across all areas of the organisation. Like any company on a significant growth journey, Blacktower has experienced its share of challenges alongside many achievements. Throughout it all, particularly in my role, I’ve learned that a job isn’t just about the work itself — it’s about the people. They are what truly make a team strong and a business resilient.
From those early days, I’ve been fortunate to witness Blacktower’s transformation into an organisation with an increasingly global footprint . Seeing how much we have accomplished together, through collaboration, commitment and shared values, has been incredibly rewarding. I am immensely proud to have played a part in this journey and to be celebrating the milestone of Blacktower’s 40th anniversary. As we look ahead, I’m excited for what the future holds — embracing new challenges, supporting continued growth, and contributing to the next chapter of Blacktower’s success.
