Rosemary Sheppard

Previous Experience

Following a successful career in hotel and restaurant management, Rosemary moved into the UK banking industry at the beginning of 2008.  During her seven years in the industry she gained her original UK qualifications with CII in 2010.

In 2015 Rosemary joined the Blacktower team in France and with her young family made the permanent move to live in the beautiful Dordogne.

Areas of Expertise

Rosemary works throughout France and is well placed to cover many regions in the southern part of France as well as in Paris and Toulouse. She specialises in providing financial planning advice for: 

• Investments and retirement planning, including QROPS (Qualified Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme) and Assurance Vie products, which are specific to France.
• Planning for future needs, such as education.
• Inheritance Tax planning and future tax efficiency of savings.

For more than a decade, Rosemary has also assisted her husband in building their gîte business and in doing so has amassed a wealth of experience that she is happy to share with her fellow expats.

• CertPFS (Certificate in Financial Planning)
• DipFA (Diploma in Financial Advising)

Charity work

Supported by her previous company in the UK, Rosemary completed a ‘Teach Others’ qualification and, along with three colleagues, held several workshops through the ‘Money for Life Programme’ with young people and young families to educate them on basic money matters.  Rosemary also held a solo workshop with Age UK in conjunction with their charity programme to help young people who had left school/home at a very early age and were struggling financially.

As a founding member of her children’s primary school “Friends of” association, Rosemary supported the school for seven years in various positions, including Chairperson and Treasurer for several of these years, raising additional funds for the school and organising various events to bring the school and the community together.  For the last three years of her time in the UK she also supported the school as a Governor.
