  1. New tax resident due to relocation (typically by spending over 183 days in Spain)
  2. No Spanish tax residency in the past 5 years
  3. Work-related move, such as employment, launching a business, or remote work via a digital nomad visa
  4. Main professional activity must be in Spain (up to 15% of work can be abroad)
  5. Application must be filed within six months of registering with Spanish Social Security or arriving in Spain

Who’s Excluded?

  • Traditional freelancers or self-employed individuals (unless under specific visa programs)
  • Company directors owning over 25% of a company, unless linked to a startup or holding a relevant visa
